Grow Box Smell Filtration

Cannabis has a strong scent.

This scent is so strong that it can be noticed in your whole house.

Its a nice scent of course, but it will give away what you're doing.

If its legal where you live, its not such a big problem.

But if you need to remain stealthy, you must filter that smell.

This is done with activated carbon filters, they look like this:

They come in different sizes

Inside these filters is activated charcoal.

It acts like a magnet and traps smell.

The air coming out of your grow box is pushed through this filter.

The filter can be inside the grow box or outside, it works both ways.

In the next image, the fan is attached to the filter and it pulls air through it.

Will it remove 100% all smell?

Yes, most of the time.

When the plants are very ripe and in full flower, a slight scent can be noticed.

you may need to crack a window open and it will be fully gone.

A few ways to make filters work best:

• Buy a larger filter. For example 6-inch or 8-inch.
• Use a fan speed controller that makes the fan run as slow as possible. The slower the air flows, the more time the carbon has to scrub it.
• Cheap filters have thinner walls and less carbon in them. They don't work as well.
• Use 2 carbon filters if you have the space. One inside the tent and one outside.
